Crank shaft oil seal leaking

Afternoon, Have any of you had any issues with the crankshaft oil seal leaking, car is currently in fro service and been told it is leaking, from behind timing belt, is this common? what does it entail to change and cost, car is 65 plate vRS tdi with 40k, Full skoda service history. Thanks

That’s great thanks, Dealers are trying to get me some good will on it as its only 40k and had five dealer services, approved used warranty only ran out in March also, Fingers crossed they will come good for me

Part was £80 plus £80 for two hours labour.

 

Interesting.

I've just had mine serviced at a Skoda dealer. Told me I've got a leak around the front of the engine, suspected crank seal.

The car just had the cambelt and water pump changed by the same dealer six weeks ago and no mention of an oil leak then 🙄
