Columbus navigation after warranty period?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if the behaviour of the Columbus sat/nav changes after the three year warranty period expires? In particular, I was impressed that the sat/nav would change the route mid-stream "due to current traffic conditions".  The dealer said something about Škoda Connect, but I have never had that.

When I drove to the dealer for the third and final warranty service, the sat/nav took me on a real rat run, but after the service the sat/nav stuck to the major arteries. It was like the unit had been lobotomised.

Thanks for any info.

I tend to agree with you. Min Columbus worked really well for a few years, taking notice of traffic and able to show radio logos. Now it does not adjust the route to take traffic into account, always saying "No Reports Found" and I can no longer assign logos to the DAB presets. Only OTA logos, such as broadcast by BBC World Service, show up. It's running the latest firmware and the maps are up to date. It's so unreliable in traffic that I now use Waze on my phone and just have the Columbus map on so that the passengers can see where we are.
