Bluetooth microphone placement?

Featured Replies

Hi,

when i am calling someone through the "Move and Fun" phone bluetooth - often the person recieving the call has problems hearing me speak. I assumed that the system used my phones microphone for the call, and thus i placed the phone in the cup-holder, facing me - such that i could yell at it if needed. :) It did not solve my issue.

So is there a microphone on the GPS unit? In the dash?

When my wife is in the car and her phone rings in her bag linked by bluetoth or mounted in the cradle, you can accept the call on the screen. You can hear the caller through the car speakers, but nothing we have done allows them to hear us so they give up and hang up?

Yeah, i've made the same observation - (phone in my pocket, not bag - but yeah). I havent fiddled with the phone setup yet, hmm, maybe i should. Maybe I inadvertently changed someting.

Well as we have only had the car a few months this looks like a warranty issue. Don't think it has ever worked thinking back.

Normally with a car's bt connection, the phone is just the means to connect to the mobile network, and the received sound goes to car's speakers and the transmitted sound comes from a microphone in the car. Either the microphone is not working or there's a problem with the bt link. Have you tried pairing a different phone? Some phones are incompatible with some car btooth setups...
