Audience radio replacement octavia mk2

Featured Replies

Hi guys, sorry I know this topic has been done to death but 1 question I'm unsure of. I have the Audience sound system 12 speakers I believe with the amp under seat, I know it's all on Cambus system and Chinese replacements are very difficult, question is do skoda do a radio which I can replace with without having to rewire etc, Colombus radio? Thanks for any help perry

If you are talking about a Mk2 Octavia with the "Sound System" then yes, I think a Colombus will slot in.

Thanks for reply, only other thing that throws a spanner in the works is I cannot find an amplifier, it's not under either seat as described

so i have done a vehicle identification search (the sticker thing with all the codes) mine is 8AK = radi And 8RM which indicated 8 passive speaker which i beleive do need an amp, problem is there is no amp under passanger seat or driver seat, could this be located somewhere else and if so where?

if i get the cloumbus do i need to do anything else or is it just plug and play  many thanks Perry

I "think" the Colombus should still be plug & play. If you have the 8 speaker set up it's the head unit that will be driving the speakers not an external amp.

To be safe........try and find a Colombus from the same model year as your car.

Thanks pal, much appreciated

It'll completely depend on what equipment the donor car had as to how the Columbus be coded. It's a pretty easy task to recode the Columbus using VCDS or similar.

What age is your car? Earlier MK2's may also need the CAN-gateway either updating or replacing to avoid battery drain issues. Finally, you'd also need a fakra GPS antenna and new facia as the Columbus and Audience are difference shapes.

Where are you based?

Shameless plug, I have a Columbus for sale and can help with VCDS coding:
