Hi all, when I bought my 2011 combi, the passenger side blank panel was missing, where the mirror switch is on the driver side, and this is my fix for it. 

 

It cost me less than a tenner to do with simple tools, and I think it livens up the black plastic interior. So if you have a missing blank panel or just want to replace it with something else, here’s what I did.

 

So this is it before^.

 

I bought this metal logo key ring from amazon for about £5 that was a similar size to the missing panel (sheer luck!) v

 

I used this Foredom pedal operated cutty thing to take the ring part off but it was overkill to be honest and a Dremel or a simple band saw would do the trick. I used the dremel for tidying it up a bit. 

 

To secure it in place, I used one of these plastic plant labels, which conveniently fits into the two slots Skoda left for the missing cover. 

 

A small suction cup for hanging things helped me manoeuvre the badge onto a sticky dot, and wha la!

I did push it in a bit further so it sat flush afterwards, but it has stayed in place so far!

I used a frog tape ‘glu dot’, acts a bit like hot glue because its soft and pliable, but it doesn’t use heat and it doesn’t  set hard.

 

I replaced mine with a nice chrome switch from the polo 7r

That looks great, actually fits with the chrome accents of the Fabia more than the factory one.
