Hi all,

I'm planning to buy the most beautifull rims that will ever have been fitted on a Octavia 1 but the dimensions are 18x8,5 ET35... I'm planning to put 215/35 tires on them and lowering the car approx 50mm (about 2 inches).

Will I have rubbing problems? I know that the wheelarches of a Octavia aren't as wide as e.g. a Golf IV...

Anybody got pictures of this wheelsize under an octi?

oh yeah, forgot to ask... will 18x8,5 ET40 give problems (maybe on the inside)?

i ran 18x8.5 et 30 and wore away the inner arches... esp with 245's

fine with 215/225

would expect et40 to catch on struts.

8.5j will defo; not fit, i tried some on mine and they were over the arches by a fair way:thumbdwn:

Anyone else here? When I check fitting guides from various rim-vendors often they mention 18x8,5 ET35 as being the right size for Octavia 1...

For Octavia 1 on 18's the correct tyre size would be 225/40 18.

215 on 8.5 wide rims will be very stretched, although this may be the idea.
