I have done front seats to replace degraded foam, the rears look simple by comparison, getting the boot trim material off the backrest intact and replacing it without signs will be the difficult part, once exposed its just a matter of opening up & releasing the hog rings from memory.

The felt on the back don't have to come off, you can release the cover, it just pulls out of the gap.

Im looking at the base and back rest to install heated mats.I don t want to start the job and then get in a muddle.I know fitting the mats will be the easy part but its the seats im worried about stripping down.

Im thinking of taking the power from the cigarette lighter or maybe the rear light cluster as i already have towbar electrics which i could use as im getting rid of the tow bar.

If they are like the fronts, you will need to code them in with VDCS, unless you are using non standard heater pads?

The hardest thing I found when swapping mine to leather was getting it started, the backrest was a bugger, but when I fathomed it out, it was easy, best way to take the backrest apart was to take the armrest off first, just screwed in, then take the backrest cover off, starting at one corner tease the cover from the gap, no need to take the boot felt off it not under that, It just pushes in, remember it's made to go in easy when they put them together at the factory.

Base, just pop it from the frame and undo the hog rings.

Any problems give me a shout.
