Central locking problem

Featured Replies

I've recently performed some work which required disconnecting the battery for a while and now the central lockin doesn't work. I have the following symptoms:

* Neither key fob is recognised. The lights on the units flash but the car does nothing.

* The central locking button in the car operates the front doors only. The rear doors are stuck unlocked and the boot is stuck locked.

Any ideas? I've tried various key reprogramming sequences I found online (although since the internal switch isn't behaving properly either, I don't think it's a basic key sync issue) and I've tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and reconnecting.

Just in case anyone hits the same problem in the future and finds this thread, it turns out that the entire "comfort and convenience" ECU had reverted to its default state and needed reprogramming which apparently requires various codes to be generated on VW's servers. My local VAG specialist charged me £90 for it and now everything is working again.
