Octavia Fault codes

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I recently purchased a Carista ODB Scanner to make some changes to the car (Turning off the SoundAktor to be precise)

I also gave it a quick diagnostic scan to see if there were any fault codes; it came up with 2 last night;

ABS - 16401 ( is this a cause for concern?)

Central Electronics - 204546 ( Which I have sorted )

However after today’s scan another one popped up and I cannot find information on it anywhere and was wondering if anybody on here has come across it.

Thanks in advance

The first code suggests you may have a current or historic fault with either the crank or camshaft sensor (bank 1 just means cylinder bank 1, we only have one bank being as our engines are inline 4 cylinder engines) needs a proper VCDS scan.

The second code suggest you need a new battery in your spare car or main key.

Yeah I’ve changed the battery over so just need to Reset that code

The main issue I’m concerned about is the 08260 code which give not information on what it could be

8260 in abs is a comms error with the park assist module, but i would take carista fault codes with a pinch of salt.. your abs module isn't going to flag an engine timing error.

Thanks for that, I only got the Carista for the reason to turn off SoundAktor.  Will get a proper VCDS scam done on it
