the other day my engine management light come on, reading the skoda book that come's with the car it states something to do with the emisions! What sort of thing can the problems be reverting to this light ?????:confused:

But i had the car serviced by a garage bout 500 miles ago and hasnt been running like it did b4 the service .... lack of power i think !!!!:orb_angry

Mine comes on also (1.8T 4x4). VAG says it's the cat that's shagged, I know it ain't because it's a Blueflame Stainless jobbie (on-going dispute here)!!!!

Get it VAG'd, that should answer your questions.

Mine is the VRS model, 51 plate. i took it to work this morning with no probs .... still goes like **** of the shovel !:orb_flami so poss it might be the cat.. if so would you recomend a de-cat pipe. will this **** up the co2 emisions ? im also looking at upiping the power as iv had my baby a year coming in a few months, what do u recomend for the octi ?:orb_nurs

Go for the full Blueflame Stainless with Sports Cat (100 cel). This way you'll get through the MOT,,,,,, no cat ,,,,, no ticket. :thumbdwn:

Blueflame are pretty good with vRS's not so much so with 4x4's.

My engine light came on a few weeks ago - needed a new dump valve and one of the hoses.

You cant tell what it is without diagnoses equipment.

Mine came on when a vac hose split.

I had this problem and it was only the lambda sensor before the Cat.My mate is a AA patrol and he plugged in his laptop:thumbup:

After driving round for a week with the engine light on , it has now decided to turn it self off after a good boot one morning ! it still come on when the key is turned to postion 2 on barrel ! should i be worried ?

The light should be on in key postion 2
