Detachable towbar

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I am looking to fit a detachable tow bar to our Yeti.

It currently has a non removable one, but would like the detached item, main reason for parking in our garage, a removable one gives me another 4 inches for reversing to the rear wall, plus the rear clean line when I am not towing.

I have a new rear silver panel for the rear bumper and removable bumper cover.

Is there any preference as to which make with the removable bumper panel?

The Westfalia unit seems the one to go for.

Definitely!!

Does it really give extra room. I would have no qualms about backing in carefull until touching the wall with the towball, but without one I would end up parked further away as not wanting to damage the bumper?

Hi all.

Thanks for the replies. I am going for the Westfalia, its the same setup that was on our Range Rover, very easy to attach and remove.

@Kenfowler3966.

It gives me an additional 4 inches of room, but I appreciate what you say. Used to back the car into the garage, but find driving it in is better for the auto as the garage has a steep ramp and i find that I can just let it creep in in forward, reverse has to have a fair bit of throttle to go up the ramp.

I have a strategic cardboard box placed at the back wall, when I see it move when nudged, I am parked up correctly.

Steve.
