Whilst I realise this is probably a very stupid question... However it's dark and raining outside and I can't see a lot.

 

is it possible for me to check the bolts on the wishbone whilst my car is parked on the drive? (I think I know which bit the wishbone is!)

It would need jacking up. And there's no way to check that they are torqued up properly unless you loosen them and re-torque.

She has a knock on the front suspension. I advised checking the torque of the main wishbone bolts as mine knocked when they weren't quite torqued up properly. She has been through lots of other investigations. It's not just a case of putting a spanner on them and seeing if they feel tight. That tells you nothing because they will feel tight regardless. The torque needs checking properly. It's even possible that they haven't been tightened properly because the alloy console thread(s) are knackered.

 

Torque = 70 Nm + 90°
