Hi all my driveshaft has completely gone ive ordered a replacement one but what size is the hub nut and torque bolts to remove it as i need to order a new a new socket. Octavia vrs mk1 

According to the workshop manual here you need a special VAG tool for the 12-point nut; Extractor -MP 6-425. As far as I can tell the nut needs a 30mm 12-point socket for removal.

And both can be had at Halfords cheap enough. I got the laser spline set and used an extension socket 3/8.

 

If you need a 30mm you might as well invest in a small socket set that goes up to that.
