When I unlock my My 2 2011 Octavia Scout, there’s the usual flash of the indicators, and a little high-pitched squeak from the engine compartment, but after a second or so, there sounds a “boop” from the door (speakers) repeated at 2-second intervals.

this stops once I get in and shut the door.

i can’t see anything in the handbook.

what does it want me to do!?

 

Sounds like a low battery warning, I'd start by getting that tested. 

Id tend to agree with Anddenton that you've possibly got a battery issue that needs looking into 

Thanks to all on this thread. It does appear that the sound is a battery warning, although the car always starts perfectly normally when it sounds. I’m investigating the cause of the battery drain.
