Pickup hydraulic clutch

Recommended Posts

Hello

New to the forum and hoping you guys can help me out, I am in the process of converting my pickup to 1.9pd out of a 2006 fabia. I have most of the work done but am now at the bit I have been putting off, I need to get the hydraulic clutch to work. I have been looking on the forums etc and managed to find a picture of a felicia engine bay with a clutch master cylinder fitted (it was getting a 1.8t) but cannot find how he got the pedal to work. I do have the whole donnor car and have the clutch pedal and M/C removed but I cannot get the pedal high enough due to the brake bar that crosses to the passenger side.

Any help/pictures would be great

Thanks Lewis

I've had to convert to hydraulic clutch in my 1.8t Felicia, there's a few ways to do it.

I would suggest using the original clutch pedal and fitting a clutch master cylinder to it.

One way is to use a Wilwood master cylinder like this https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F331561586302

Just get a suitable clevis attachment so you can bolt it to the pedal.

I ran like this for 7k miles worked fine but I takes up much needed room in the engine bay, if you see the photo you'll see what I mean.

So I decided to fit one inside the car using the original clutch cable pin at the top of the pedal. I've used a new style Mini master cylinder but turned around so it will push towards the rear.

I only have one photo but you can make out what I mean. It's pedal fully down in the photo.

You'll just have to come up with a way to mount it, I made a mount for it and welded it.

Thanks for the reply I really appreciate it. I like the look of the setup you have with the mini m/c, did the clutch pressure pipe from the vag one fit into the BMW one?  I know it will need modified but would be great if the push fit connector fits. Would it be possible to take a photo of how you have mounted it?

Thanks Lewis

Do you mean the push connector I've circled in the photo?

Then yeah the Vw one fits into the mini/bmw master cylinder.

I've not finished it yet but I'm thinking something like the second photo once fully welded should be sound.
