Loads of post on this subject. Summary is, after making careful checks around the cabin AND boot and spare wheel well, make sure your using the humidity control feature of the climatronic system. Do this by keeping the air conditioning on at all times during the winter.

The a/c cools the incoming air to remove water before heating it again to your set temperature at about 85% humidity. It also removes damp cabin air and clears the screen much faster.

cheers mate never knew this will check the link out

If you find water trapped at the bottom of the door seals inside the car, this can cause a lot of condensation.

I have trapped a piece of cable off cut in the bottom of the door between the door and door card.

when the door closes, this makes a little gap in the door seal (either side of the cable) which is just enough to let the water out, so no more trapped water.

I did this last year as water was getting in (and not getting out) and condensation was really bad.

It is now a lot better / much less condensation.

I think half my problem might be that I dont drive the car for days at a time sometimes, when I open the doors the water does come out if its been raining not sure why it dont come out with the doors closed

Yes, it gets trapped. Up to you but it has really helped mine.

The Octavia is terrible for condensation and absolutely no fun when you have ice inside the windscreen. I had been through all the checks on mine; door seals, AC condensation pipe, boot vent but nothing made any difference. I bought a couple of 1kg dehumidifier bags from Halfords and they controlled the condensation build up. You do need to dry them out every so often so I recommend going for three with two in the car at any one time.

I too suddenly suffered from windscreen mist/iced up on the inside.

I may have found the solution.

When parking the car overnight set the air intake to recirculate and the direction down.

It may be that air flowing over the warm engine after parking heats up and pulls moisture into the car and straight onto the windscreen where it condenses out.

Seems to work for me?
