Front suspension noise

Featured Replies

I have 2017 Sportline 2.0 TSI, which has developed a drumming resonance noise coming from the front suspension, which is intrusively loud on rough tarmac. It has gradually come on over the past 3 to 4 months and wonder if it is due to hitting a bad pothole, which made quite a bang. I have eliminated the tyres as being the problem, as I have replaced the P7s with Goodyear Assymetric 5s. I have also replaced the shocks with Koni special active ones, which incidentally control the bounce much better over bumps than the stock shocks (I don't have DCC by the way). I have also had the tracking checked and adjusted.

The noise appears to emanate from the movement of the front suspension being transmitted to the bodyshell, which suggests it could be caused by damage to one of the bushes either on the anti-roll bar or suspension arms? Has anyone else experienced this issue, which is similar to the noise my VRS Octavia used to make from the rear suspension?
