Radio Touch screen problems

Featured Replies

I've mentioned this on another thread but rather than hijack it I thought I'd post a separate one.

I've had my Fabia nearly 2 years now from brand new and recently over the passed few weeks the touchscreen has been giving me problems being unresponsive or registering false touches. This seems to happen at low temperatures because after the car has warmed up for around 20-30 minutes the screen functions as it should.

Yesterday I had it in at the Skoda dealership to investigate the problem. Unsurprisingly they said they couldn't find a fault. They said they had updated the software and this may or may not fix the problem. I was also told that Skoda are aware of the issue that at temperatures of zero and below the touchscreen would not function correctly (I accept that and wouldn't expect it to) however this problem happens at temperatures up to 10 degrees. The dealership also told me they were advised from Skoda UK that any parts replaced from this would not be covered under warranty!

I have emailed them this morning asking for a replacement unit under warranty. I will keep this thread updated with my progress.

I know other people have had this issue but has anyone had it fixed either by software update or replacement unit? I'm assuming most peoples touchscreens work fine from above 0 to 10 degrees?

Video of the issue.
