hi guys firstly i have a few audis from a3 to a6 avant rs6 c6 with c7 conversion replica but my 2004.bkd a3 dsg won't start had a similar fault about a month ago the engine management light when the ignition is switched on isn't coming on and the car cranks but won't start the gearbox lights are flashing also last time this happened it was the abs pump I unplugged that it started this time I've tried that and it isn't that the night before the car drove great and has done no problems I've checked fuses in dash and engine bay it seems to me as the can bus may have went down I use the car daily so need it back asap any help would be appreciated were to look next ie any specific relays relate to the engine management all other lights work and go out accordingly but engine light not coming on and the prnds lights are flashing on the dash I'm pretty sure it's not the electronic thanks

Without doing/seeing a fault code scan anything we suggest or you do is just guesswork.

Worth checking all the fuses supplying power to the engine ECU.

Welcome.

Do you not know a good Audi mechanic?

This is a 2.0TDI is it not?

First check would be battery terminal tightness.  Then the earth.

A poor connection to the battery or a bad earth can cause the flashing lights.

A 15 year old car can have corrosion of wires or poor connections causing issues.

The DSG could have an issue with the switch / shifter and not allowing the engine to start. Needing to be in P or N and the car knowing that.

Maybe there is a DSG issue.

Fuel pump.  Key immobiliser.

So many maybe's that maybe you need a mechanic to look at it.

As above, given your impressive Audi collection it sounds as though it might be wise to invest in diagnostics software, a basic code reader, VCDS, or perhaps Carista?

As mentioned, being able to read the stored fault codes is the first important step here.
