My Fabia is not recognised .....

Featured Replies

The little charts on sellers websites that require you to input your car reg. or year of manufacture

do not recognise my Fabia.

They all seem to end at Mk.3, 2014 1.2l or 1.4l.

So what exactly is my 2019 1L, 110ps  Fabia Monte Carlo Estate is there a separate Skoda definition

for this engine/model

The current Fabia was introduced in 2014, are they quoting a model 2014 to current date

If it doesn’t recognise registration might not have been recently updated (they don’t pay for live registration data, not normal to sell car within weeks of buying it), and often won’t recognise private plates

I think that additionally, most sellers will ignore new and newish cars as that age of car does not tend to "want/need" alternative supplier parts. Quite a few parts etc places don't include car until they are out of warranty as its not worth it to them.

Not sure i'd trust most websites anyway, had some interesting results from a lot of them based on reg. Halfords one is a joke most the time especially for bulbs.

Direct line had my fabia down as the 90hp version rather than the 110hp based on reg 😯 Luckily noticed and got them to change it. All other insurers that quoted me got it right.

I'm not saying this is the case here but sometimes VRN searches don't work because the car may have been initially registered in NI or another part of non-mainland UK.  I had this on a Golf and it was a PITA; even insurance databases wouldn't recognise the VRN.

It is not recognised because the data bases only go to 2017 and 90ps 1.2 or 1.4

Mine is a 2019 Kombi 1l tsi. 110ps
