We are looking at a couple of Skoda  Yeti’s 1.2 TSI Petrol Manual but are not sure which is the best one ? Wondered if anybody here might be able to help at all ?

First one is a 2011 with 121,000 mls Has has chain done last year as well as brakes. Has sh paperwork . Body work good as is the inside . The mileage puts us off but perhaps this isn’t to high ?? Price is £3300

Second one is cheaper at £2750 but chain not done . Mileage is 90000

2009 model .Servicing done . Good condition
Third is £3995 88,000 mls Serviced

Chain done back in April 2917 Good condition

which sounds the better one ?

Welcome to the forum.

?

Was the timing chain and tensioner done because of the need to upgrade because of issues with those before 2012?

If so good, as long as the upgrade according to the TPI/

The one not done might well need the upgrade, so you need to check on this.

Hmm that we don’t know ?

Many thanks for your advice , much appreciated 👍

Visual condition and service history is key for me. Mileage less so.

The ones with service history, have any of them been run on fixed service intervals (12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever is reached first) i.e. fresh oil and oil filter at least every year?

Good quality oil is the lifeblood of any engine and turbo so would be a key indicator for me. It is also the more expensive servicing option, so might be a sign of a considerate previous owner.

That’s interesting advice , thank you.
Yes,  two of them have been serviced each year so, as you say , sound like they have been looked after .

Are they all the same model though? A higher spec is always more desirable and costs little more at that age.

Yes they are . Thank you for that advice Ken .
