No electric windows

Hi folks,

The Mrs informed me today that the electric windows have stopped working on her Roomster

It only has fronts & they both seem to have stopped at once & the mirrors which seem to be on the same fuse move OK. I thought drivers switch at first but the passengers door doesn't work from it's own switch either.

If the wiring in one door, i.e drivers side, was broken would that affect both as it seems a bit too coincidental for both to break at the same time.

I have seen mentioned somewhere something about a convenience module. Is that a likely candidate for failure & if so does a Roomster have one & where is it located?

TIA

Nick

Will do thanks. Is that likely to affect both windows if if is the case?

Yep, both windows are controlled through the loom going into the drivers door.

The control unit for them is part of the window motor on the drivers door.

Ah ha.

Useful information greatly received, thanks.

I pulled back the boot between the door & A pillar today & saw three wires that had broken insulation.

Although the wires appeared to be intact, I would imagine they are the offending ones.

I will have a more detailed look after Christmas with a view to doing a repair.
