Goodbye (For 18 Months)

Featured Replies

I've been looking at leasing deals for a while now as I've always wanted to try it out ... was very close to taking a BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe (as they are replacing it next year they are getting rid of existing stock / build slots) but then came across an insane deal on a Volvo S60 and once I sat in it I decided to go for it.

The Rapid is being used by family at the moment but I will probably SORN it until the lease ends on the S60, it's a fabulous car and I can't bear to part with it!

Volvo are really on form at the moment, they#re producing some great cars.

The problem you'll have is that after running the S60 you aren't going to want to jump back into a Rapid.

Cars don't like being stood, not being used either, it really does kill them quick unless you can garage it.

As hard as it is to sell a good car, it might be best for both your wallet and the car?

It's being used by family at the moment, but you make a fair point. Once it's not being used I'll see ...

That S60 does look the business. I’ve fancied a Volvo for quite a while, also taking  an interest in BMWs too right now, but potential servicing costs are deterring me at the moment, especially as I have a perfectly good Octavia.

You can lease a Jag XE for the price of a Peugeot 508! What’s that all about?

The interior, tech equipment  is very good, My son’s S60 T5 is really nice and he negotiated a good PCH deal, effectively leasing it for probably less than the depreciation.

I was in the same boat, but there are some very good deals around. The S60 was so good I decided to take it - I also got a very good deal on the current BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe (which is being replaced next year so they're getting rid) but the Voivo was cheaper and a much more interesting car for me.

Mine is standard plus a Winter Pack (which is a heated steering wheel, heated washer jets) and a spare wheel, but you are right the standard spec is excellent. After driving two Rapids (one being an S spec too!) it's a completely different beast. Some stuff I can do without but some of it is really nice, especially the heads up display.

So my Volvo went back yesterday, was a lovely car but can't justify leasing again at the moment as I'm WFH. I only covered 6000 miles in the Volvo in 21 months.

So glad I kept my Rapid though looking at current lease deals and used car prices. I had to change the battery but it's currently being put through MOT and a health check by a mate - if there's nothing major wrong with it I will keep it and modify it at bit. Getting back into it was lovely though even coming from the plush Volvo interior ...
