Mk2 Pre FL Headunit upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Well, self confessed I'm a complete ICE novice 😂 most of my life having Impreza's etc I've turned the radio off to listen to the noise.

Problem is, I now need to sort Bluetooth in my Octy VRS. Now my original plan was to fit my old single din HU by getting a 'Kit' which includes the surround and loom. I got sent an email from Halfords which had a really nice Pioneer double din unit in there, touchscreen, linked to Spotify etc. For £120.

Now if I bought that would I still need some sort of new surround? Is it easier/ cheaper to just stick with the single din? Easy to fit myself with a loom etc? I don't have steering wheel controls which I assume helps!

You will also need a quadlock wiring adapter with canbus decoder to control the stereo turning on and off with the ignition.

This should be all that's required to fit a double din.

Legend! Thank you mate 🙂
