Mine has started making crunchy noises 😪 just wondering are they the same as a mk4 golf 5door as mate is going to be breaking one shortly.

If not what sort of £ can I expect for a new one?

 

Am I right that the door card can be awkward to remove?

Mk4 Golf ones are different to Mk1 Octavia unfortunately. I got these from eBay for under £17. Been on my car for 4 years without issue.

Except with the one I bought, you save a massive five pence!!

 

Fitting is pretty straightforward and easy, long as you're methodical. The only awkward thing about the door card is making sure you disconnect and reconnect all the linkages and wiring sockets before fully removing and reinstalling it. Might want to have a spare pair of hands come hold the card while you do this.

It’s pretty straight forward. Worst part I found was the waterproof membrane.
