replace cheap stock radio with cheap android

Featured Replies

hi,

I have a 2014 Octavia with "blues radio" please see the photo below.

I HAVE NO DVD in the glove box. just an empty space.

BUT I found on ebay the  trim inside the glove box, with the blank for dvd.  I think it is easy to install the new trim

I want to replace it with a bigger android screen. please check the aliexpress link.

I.m asking all these because car's cables are behind my screen. models with DVD have the cables behind the dvd.

I see that cables are long enough(photos from aliexpress)

will all this work? does anyone replace the cheap radio with a chineze radio?

I don't want original screens.they are expensive, they need coding etc...

if someone tried and has such car screens, please upload some photos

You will have to remove the glovebox to get that trim fitted.  When off this should give you enough access to the space behind the screen to fit the cables.

Good luck with the swap, I think the info out here will be very limited as most posters are from the UK and all Octavia’s sold here have the Bolero and above radio’s with a separate base unit and screen. You will likely need to pull the wiring from the centre to the glovebox and go from there but you will need to check with the radio supplier as the radio will be designed to integrate with the CAN system like the Bolero and above radios do, so check all the functionality is the same before you buy.
