Skoda fabia 2009 model remote key.

Featured Replies

I have recently purchased the above for my wife.It only had a normal key with it not remote.I have tried a number of lock smiths to have a remote key cut  and programed. They can  cut a spare key but not a remote!!!.I was told after checking  the reg number the car has not got remote central locking.Rather strange for a 2009 model not to have this facility. My wife previous 2003 model had remote locking!!!!..I purchased a central locking kit and tired to have it fitted.I went to a skoda garage who said the unit could not be fitted as there was already a remote key program fitted .The garage place it on there programmer and show a remote key can be fitted. Can any body advise me were the best place to go to get this sorted without going to a main dealer as this would cost a fortune.

Kindest regards

Bob

I think VCDS can do this, as could any dealer.

I think it depends on whether you have the SKC code or not.

Seems the key programming procedure with VCDS is a little bit more complex than it needs to be...

Needs a reply from someone who has done it "imo".............or take it to a dealer
