Starting problem

Over the last week or two my FL vrs is struggling to start.  I suspected battery so reolaced it today after checking it.  It was only pulling 9v.  Thought that would solve it but it hasnt.  

 

Yurninv the key and it turns over for between 5 and 10 seconds then starts.  Drives normally but just the start up is causing me concern.   Any ideas?   2.0 petrol TSI

Have you been able to check for any stored fault codes?

Not yet.  Waiting for a mate to drop one off but wont be until Monday.  No EML though

Prolonged starting can be a myriad of possible issues from timing, fuel supply, ignition, coil packs, electrical etc.

 

Hopefully even without the EML there will be some indication via a stored fault code...

Ive managed to find someone who had a scanner nearby.   Theres an error code p0016 there.   Not looking good reading back through the forums for that number....

Car being recovered on Tuesday.  Not even going to try starting it.  Will let the experts diagnose and fix it!
