Had lots of help so thanks.

I had dead electric boot struts on a 2015 Scout. I took it to a tailgate specialist who replaced the electric struts with standard ones.

It triple beeps when opened but when closed it will have a slight jiggle and not fully close. It is locked and can't be opened.

I have included a photo from the inside when closed (can see not fully engaged).

Is this because the electrics aren't connected?

Any suggestions?

It’s a shame you aren’t near me, I’d love to pay you some money to take all the power boot gubbins out and swap you my standard boot lock and alter your coding so we can both get what we are after. As it goes I have some driven struts ready for my power bootlid conversion so I only need the rest! You’ll need to change the boot latch to a standard one and ideally alter the coding so the car isn’t looking for the power boot anymore and then it’ll work like any other factory non powered bootlid.

Did you bin the struts? Only asking because my pair have come without the clips that hold them to the ball joints. I need 2 so if you have them I am interested in buying a pair. Please drop me a message if you can  Also if you need anything from a non power boot car to finish your conversion off please let me know.

Digging up an old thread as I'm considering replacing the electric struts in my Scout with standard ones.

 

So, assuming replacing the struts themselves, does the latch also need replacing?

And then, how difficult to code out the option? Athough I'm curious if the car throws any warning lights if you don't.
