Superskoda shop - thumbs up!

Featured Replies

Hello guys and girls, hope you're all well!

I saw a thread recently, where a poster was asking about ordering parts from Superskoda in the Czech Republic...although having looked again, I can't find the thread now! Anyway I thought I'd post my recent experience, having used them to buy some things.

Last week I ordered a set of bonnet struts, some LED bulbs, an O.E. warning triangle and a windscreen spoiler for my VRS. Ordering was easy, they have a really good website. Once I had ordered, I received an email with tracking information - seems the item goes to Germany first, then onto the UK from there. It all moved pretty quickly, five days from order to receipt. It was all packed in a really nice, sturdy box, and the items are really nice, good quality as far as I can see. I'm very happy.

So as the infernal Simon Cowell is want to say - 'it's a yes from me!'

The thing which put me off was the fact their website is not SSL secured and therefore any communications with it are insecure.

Arh yes, but if you pay via Paypal, the financial transaction is secure, so it is not a major problem.  I don't think that most people will be particularly interested in the bonnet structs and LED bulbs!  Agree they should get their https access sorted though.

Maybe, but your name/address/order details are still unencrypted and if you sign up for an account your username/password is too. Like you say, they really should sort it, SSL certs are not expensive in the scheme of things.

Ultimately it's personal choice and for me, I found the same part & price at skoda-parts.com and their website being secure won my business.

+1 @dan245 - although I still used them, with a burner email and delivery address to main entrance of estate. I've used them a few times recently as a Guest only, and requested previous details to be forgotten. Either way, security is definitely an aspect of 'quality' (of service), and they should get it sorted - and maybe fully update their website while they're at it.

Otherwise, they do have good stock and have been dependable source of parts to many Brisky members AFAIK - we shall await the impending data breaches 😉
