Auto dimming wing mirror wiring

Featured Replies

Hi

I have just changed my mirror glass after an altercation with white van man.

Anyone know which way round the black and brown cables go? there is nothing on the connection points indicating + or - anything. Yes - I should have made a note before I took the broken one off!

thanks

Can't you pop off the glass on the other side to check the correct polarity?

For cable colours, normal is that live is red or brown, neutral is black or blue.  So, brown is + and black is -.

yes but there's nothing on the terminals in indicating + or - (that I can see anyway)

I tried popping the other mirror off but not sure if the terminals are the other way round on the other side

anyway I've had a guess and the mirror seems to be heating up okay so guess it's okay

It shouldn’t matter on a mirror heating element.

It ain’t an LED lamp.
