door lock/catch

I have a skoda Octavia vrs mk2 2012 blackline, the door door lock/catch switch is working intermittently ,car will unlock but doesn't register the door open on dash ,if you don't start the car within the 30 seconds the car will lock itself ,have put wd 40 all over it many times ,still no joy. my question is does anyone know how many pins the door lockcatch has I have heard it can be 4,5,6,7,8 as would like to get the part so It can be replaced in the same day ,any advise would be greatly appreciated
