Skoda Karoq Edition 1.5 Manual Adaptive Cruise Control

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am considering a nearly new Edition. It does not appear to have ACC. Is this a possible retrofit?

Never having used ACC before is it a 'must have' and is it effective in a manual model?

Thank you.

It's better with a DSG car but still very good with a manual one.

I'd imagine it'd be a bit complicated and expensive to retro fit and for very little gain in convenience.......

I read somewhere here in an older thread that if you have ACC & it goes faulty, to replace the radar sensor alone is well into 4 figures - £2000 I think, but could be wrong.  If the radar went on my car, when well out of warranty, I might just consider abandoning the cruise control for a while, but then begin to start looking for a replacement car fairly soon after, as I do really like ACC with the DSG - together they make motorway driving ultra relaxing.

I imagine retrofitting a whole facility will be expensive and can't imagine/predict how well ACC would work with a manual car.  I know someone I see occasionally, whom I think has this with a manual Karoq, but he gets a bit phased by car gadgets generally & never even got round to using ordinary cruise control on his old Yeti - Auto's are just a no-no.
