MK1 Estate interior Wiring diagram req'd

Featured Replies

I was wondering if anyone has a reasonably comprehensive wiring diagram available for the Mk1 estate (TDi), for the interior convenience stuff?

I'm particularly looking for information on the CCM and how it's connected to the doors, boot, boot switch, alarm etc. The wife has this car and we're having problems with the door locks and alarm etc. Can't seem to find reliable information online unfortunately.

Cheers.

Problems with the locks is usually caused by micro switch failure in the lock mechanism rather than anything else

Yea this isn't my first rodeo with these, I think I've done all the locks in this car and all the locks twice in my MK4 golf. I think I might have broken or intermittent wires/grounds and want to check the wiring back to the CCM.

There's some other wierdness with the electric windows where they will only go down, or only up, or only move on the first switch position, or just nothing at all.

Ok, the window motor control unit is in the right hand front lift motor so that eliminates the cabin module, start looking for fractures in the door loom inside the rubber boot.

Does that mean the front window unit drives all of the door locks? I thought this might be the case as the car has keep-fit windows in the back but central locking all round. do all of the switches also go back to the lift motor if so?

I'd love to have a wiring diagram so I can identify the wires from colour etc.

Cheers.

No, it means that the wiring in the drivers door boot has internal fracturing in the conductors from work-hardening leading to an intermittent and seemingly random set of behaviours.
