The drying out on the side bolsters? Google "hide food".

I repaired a bolster on a Celica in much worse condition using a kit which involved spraying material onto damaged area, filing it up and finally spraying it up with a sealer according to  finish required...... Gloss, Matt etc. The results were very good. The kit after making you choice of colours and surface texture came complete with miniature spray gun and air canister.

I kept the car for a further 3 years, the repair held without deterioration.

In your case the "hide food" suggested will probably suffice.

Is that not real leather or pleather though?

The seats are mixed material in lots of cars, including some premium brands.
