Retro fitting front parking sensors

Featured Replies

I have just purchased a 2016 Superb 190 SE L Exec. The one thing missing from it are front parking sensors. Can they be retro fitted by Skoda and if so does anyone have any idea on price. Thanks.

If it is 'pre-equiped' with the wires, and if you only need to add the sensors and recode it with VCDS, it should not be a big deal.

If you also miss the wires, it may take a longer time, but not unfeasible, I guess 🤔...

Note: I talking about an OEM retrofit.

I remembered this topic from when I was looking as mine is only rear sensors. (Bonnets not that long compared to prev mondeo)

I keep seeing `OEM`. What does it mean?

Thanks.

OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer... ;)

In other words, it means, that your retrofit will be exactly the same as if the component had been mounted on the assembly line. You'll then miss only one thing. The corresponding option code will not figure on the options codes list.

The trick is finding one who will fit the OEM sensors, which will need painting and be able to hook it up to your head unit so you have the visual and audible indicators. Coding may be required?

The cheapest option is an aftermarket kit from which won't talk to your head unit, and the sensors won't be flush, but they will give you the audible warning.
