Control arms confusion

Hi, 

I have got some second hand a3 control arms with powerflex anti lift bushes installed. 
 

I understand there are different types of control arms pressed, cast alloy etc and these arms, see pic, I have been told these are worse than what I currently have on.

Not sure what to do for the best here.

i don’t want to spend £££ here,  if I got e.g Passat b6 alloy arms would I need new ball joints too and I guess new rear bushes?

Thinking cheapest is to just swap over these bushes on to my existing arms.
