Always wanted a Skoda

Featured Replies

Hello. For the first time in 30 years I find myself in charge of my own destiny as far as choice of vehicle is concerned. The downside though this is that for the first time in 30 years I also have to understand and maintain it myself (last time I had to look under a bonnet you could at least see what was there)!

Now, I hope this doesn't cause offence as it is meant to be humorous 😊 I have wanted a Skoda for 35 years as when I was travelling 26 miles to work every day, I invariably got stuck behind Skodas which never did more than 40mph! So I wanted one just to prove to the world that they could exceed that speed. I know that moment has passed, and Skoda's reputation has changed greatly but the yen was still there.

As of Thursday I am the proud owner of a 2015 Yeti Outdoor L&K and have so far thoroughly enjoyed the driving experience. Less so, the owners manual experience which I find pretty unintelligible  (could just be me being thick). So I'm off to find the Yeti section.

Hello everybody! I'm looking forward to being a member of this forum.

Hello Helen 👋

Yeti L&K - nice 😎

Thanks Gaz, I think so. I wasn't looking for a "posh" one, just wanted a 4x4 automatic which seem to be like hen's teeth around here! But it's nice to have a car that makes me smile. The dealer found it for me and it had only just arrived with them when I went to look at it. It had been priced and advertised as a 50k miles car but when I looked  had only done 30k! So I think I got it for a very good price.

I very nearly bought an L&K Yeti last May, but VW offered me £2.5k more for my vRS than Skoda would, so the GTI won the day.

Happy Yeti-ship!

Welcome.

If the Yeti had done 50,000 miles the scheduled DSG Oil change was at 40,000 miles.  So you have 10,000 miles till that.

The Haldex Service is due at 30,000 miles / 3 years so you might want to look at that.

Then the Schedule / Guidelines for the Brake Fluid change is at 3 years and each 2 years.

So if not done you might want to look at that as well.

Thank you for that. I bought it from a Skoda dealer who serviced it before I picked it up. I think I need to give them a ring to check just what they did do...

That's really useful info - thank you.
