Wiper Motor Noise

Featured Replies

I'm thinking our Karoq windscreen wiper motor might be faulty, the noise it makes is very loud in the cabin, especially noticeable when it's on intermittent / auto wipe.

I appreciate the quietness in the cabin, in fact sometimes it's so quiet friends have asked if it's a Hybrid on battery power.

Anyone else noticed the wiper motor noise in the cabin?

There's been a few posts recently regarding poor wiper blades (even on brand new cars) so could it be that?

I'm fitted with Bosch ones - the originals never made any noise or judder, they just started to leave lines in the arc.

No, this noise I'm getting is from the motor.

I'll have a listen next time we're out in the rain. Until I just changed the wiper blades for Bosches, I haven't been able to hear myself think, let alone hear a whirring motor.

I have the same issue as you. My wiper blades were rubbish at 5k miles so changed them for Bosch which was night and day different. Problem now is I can hear the noise of the wiper motor which is much louder than any car I've had before. I have no confidence in my local dealership as they will only tell me its normal.
