Brake pad wear indicator

Featured Replies

Hi,

Do all Kodiaqs come with a wear indicator for the front pads or is it just certain models?

Thanks

The manual makes no mention of it being model specific, although I appreciate is has been before on older Skoda models.

In the UK it is almost always on the nearside or passenger side inner front brake pad only. It is easy to spot if you're able to stick your head into the wheel aperture...

Oh great. Thanks for the reply. I'll have a look then see if I can spot it. I was only wondering as the pads look pretty thin but didn't see a light.

Thanksv

I repalced the brake pads on my MkII Superb last year, you can see here the electrical connector coming off the bottom of the pad...

It should be relatively easy to spot on the Kodiaq if you turn the steering into the full left hand lock and pop your head into the wheelarch.

Had a look at the pads properly and they do have the indicator cable. Strongly the rear pads I'd say are about 70% worn. Alot more than thd front ones which is odd 🤷‍♂️

The EPB (Electronic Parking Brake) and ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) are known to contribute to rear brake disc deterioration.

Ahh ok. Mine is fitted with acc. Is this something skoda would fix as an issue under warranty. Or would they just say its a quirk of the system?? I'll ask anyway 😂
