XP - Dodgy upates?

Featured Replies

Downloaded latest anti virus stuff (including windows update) on Thursday night. Yesterday spent the whole day trying to get my pc to work:eek:

Problems included Word freezing, unable to attach files to email and NO restore points would work:eek:

Yes, yes I now know that Add/Remove programmes has a little box to tick to reveal all the updates:rofl: But I've only just discovered it:rolleyes:

Removed windows updates and hey presto, all is well:thumbup:

Is there something iffy about one of these updates? Hope nobody else is caught out.

Just an update. Apparently one (or more) of the microsoft updates released on April 11 are causing problems on a number of systems. A couple of chat rooms based in the US are reporting various difficulties (see my earlier post) including problems with direct web entry details on Google.

Unfortunately I can't see anyone quoting which of the several updates is thought to be suspect.

I think I'll just wait a week or so before trying to download them again:rolleyes:

Wouldnt be the first time this happened :(
