Engine Sensor / Cable Connector Damage - Warranty

Featured Replies

So whilst inspecting the engine bay of my 2019 vRS I noticed that there was a damaged cable in which looks to be some kind of sensor cable plugging into the engine. Tracing the cable back it is part of the main loom that comes into the engine bay. Obviously I am expecting this to be covered under warranty but just concerned that my car which has been freshly paint corrected and detailed won't be treated with the same kind of respect that I would give it.

It looks like in order to fix the one connector they would need to replace the entire loom so would be a pretty big job? I'm also concerned about whether its safe to drive with the cable how it is currently. Pictures of the car and the cable issue below. I only bought the car used a couple of weeks ago and I've already had it back in to have the bonnet resprayed due to awful stone chips. The dealer I bought it from is 50 miles away so I'd want to take it somewhere locally.

Some pics of the car with its shiny ceramic coat on - and the cable damage below. Is this something that would require anything drastic? The last time I took a car that had been detailed (my old f80 BMW M3) the  body shop scratched the bumper and I didn't notice it for a few days. Hopefully they take heed of the massive 'Do not wash posters' I intend of plastering to the car.

Cheers all!

Looks OK to me, can't see any obvious damage to the wiring.
