Blackline Seats Airbag

Featured Replies

Hello I recently got Blackline seats for my 2008 vRS and fitted and cleaned them happy days and an hour later the airbag light came on with error Crash Sensor error drivers etc. Turned it off an it came on 25 mins later again. I'll get a better description of the error tomorrow. They came out of a written off 2013 model vRS facelift. Really do not what to take them out as there just so much better but has anyone else experienced this??

The seats are literally like brand new.

Thanks!

Heres the fault

the issue is probably due to a wire in the door loom

G179 is the crash sensor in the door, wiring runs through a rubber gaitor. Have a look for damaged wiring, common  issue

Thanks for the response, I assumed it was either very coincidental that it came on when the interior was changed, I'd still be safe to assume that it could also mean an issue under the seats?

But I will check that boot too.

Thanks

Where you based mate I have seat airbags for sale but if you are local to me you could put them in mine to see if fault is with seat

I guess when you were fitting the seats the door was opened as far as possible? this is when the wires get stretched.

If you have VCDS you could unplug the drivers seat and see if that gives you another fault

I'm getting a man to have a proper look tomorrow but you could be right about the door being opened wide, the car does have 140kmiles so it could be wore wires. I'm hoping it's not the seat airbag, the man that's look is used to putting smashed cars back together so he'll give me the diagnosis.
