Standard turbo boost pressure

Featured Replies

(posted in the wrong section first! oops)

Hi all,

Can someone please tell me the standard turbo pressure.

2004 Skoda Octavia mark 2 1.9 diesel with the PD engine. I think it's 110bhp.  It's DSG if that matters.

I'm trying to work out what water injection nozzel is needed. Not as performance usage just for cleaning out the engine crude.  I have a spare water/meth injection setup in the garage.

Did an amazing job on my other car's head that has 156K

Thank you

None pd engine

The mk2 never came with a 110hp diesel, it will be a PD105. Stock boost is approx 18 psi.

Thank you. That’s helpful

That’s one properly clean inlet port 😎 do you just run one nozzle on the kit?

this is my 2.0tdi with a worn turbo seal injecting an oil mist 🤣 and also not hanging around when driving, it’s got 145k on it now 😬 bit of a crap photo but it’s fairly clean, not a scratch on yours though 🤣🤣

Looks good! That head picture is from a 97 Volvo 940 turbo. It’s single nozzle injection. It was straight water but now it’s wind screen wash as it has good amounts of meth/alcohol mixes . The cheap stuff £2 per 5l. Running a larger 19t turbo and charge cooler. Mapped etc.

i also have an Audi TT Mark 1. The skoda is dads car. About ten years back we scrapped the inlet. It was thick black crud.

he looks after the car and it drives well. I think it’s 170k

Loving that engine bay, and you don’t see many charge coolers being fitted 😎

I still can’t believe how clean it is 🤣 I was under the impression they stopped using meth in screen wash but to be honest I never looked into it too much.

You can knock a DIY meth kit pretty easily too so it’d be good just for the cleaning properties 😎

Thanks mate.

pump wise £135 aem 200psi from eBay.

1/4 hose from eBay. Don’t bother paying loads it’s like 99p a meter. They market it as for water injection but it’s just fridge line

1/8 npt tap From eBay. Buy 1/8 npt fittings from eBay China. Cheap and work a treat. Even a female npt will save u cash instead of the expensive fitting.  Honeywell 5000 series pressure switch and relay and your off. I used anything from 3 to a 7psi switch.

Water tank from eBay. China £6. Used to run a kit on a Mercedes with om606 running veg oil to reduce ring gumming

Thanks for the great reply, the video was informative, I may look at something for the VRS or even the daily derv 😎

Hmmmm this is quite interesting, I bet that would make short work of the annoyingly common sticky VNT vanes/overboost/limp mode problems!
