Corner stopped working

Featured Replies

Hello, I have octy mk3 and today I swapped front bumper for the one from RS model, but after that corner function on my fog lamps stopped working. I used cables that I had originally to power my previous fogs, to power my new RS fogs (only outside bulbs), but RS fogs use H11 bulbs and previously I had H8 bulbs. Does anyone had same problem?

Octy MkIII Rs fogs are H16 bulbs from the factory

@Auric Goldfinger well, when I bought this used front RS bumper, theres already been H11 inside. I tought it was from factory like that.

As far as I'm aware H11 bulbs fit but you have to trim the lugs to make them fit. H16 are the correct bulbs from the factory

@Auric Goldfinger H11 that I'm using are from Osram and they seems like perfect fit, also they don't look like they're trimmed. Does it make any difference if theres H8, H11 or H16 for correct corner function?

H16 are 19W

H11 are 55W

H8 are 35W

All basically fit, although I had to do the trimming to get H8 to fit,  I was wary of putting 35W bulbs in but I wouldnt want to be putting 55W through wiring designed for 19W.

In the UK on some models cornering fogs are an option, is the difference purely programming or is there some hardware change too?

Programming. Assuming you have fog lights already.  It’s a 2 minute job.

Does this difference in Watts make any difference in how corner supposed to work?

Because when I turn fogs on, they work perfectly fine, so I'm confused why corner don't

I've got fog lights, but no OBD programmer.  Mine is a facelift one if that changes anything.  It is a feature I would be interested in as I feel while the lights have a good throw forwards, light to the side is very limited compared to our 69 plate Fiesta.

nevermind, I fixed my problem with OBD11. I just needed to code it again

The changes you need to make are different to the pre-facelift but it’s still a quick job.
