Dealer updates?

Featured Replies

Car going for service soon at main dealer. Can vcds pick up changes to any modules if Skoda "skynet" mainframe thinks they need it?

I know they should at least interogate the DTC's and, hopefully reset the inspection/service interval correctly...but probably not😁

Take a VCDS Auto-Scan before taking your car to the dealer and another one after - then compare the scan results.  If they've made any coding or firmware changes they will show up in the scan.

Adaptation channel changes are trickier to spot, to find them you would have to take an adaptation channel map of every module and compare them one-by-one - but they're less common.

Thanks pd. That was what I thought I should do. I've done a few adaptions in various modules  (Octy 3) so will see if they stick.  I think they do from previous posts about said subject.

Also worth checking the CodingLog and AdpLog files that VCDS automatically saves in the Debug folder - these will list all the changes that you have made.

thats interesting, I didn't know there was a log of changes, is it easy to see what's been done then, and how do they display/what do I use to view the files??

I did my first admaps ever before making some changes on 09 and 20 for mods to high beam assist speed which was bugging me on country roads not coming on early enough.

I must get out more, as It was quite interesting to see what's in them and used google translate quite successfully to decipher some of the channels that were still in German

well well,  just had a look and it opens in excel. Some of mine recently but some done previously by some one, I wonder why hill start assist has been modified from inactive to active, its and SEL so thought that would be standard?
