Superb Searching. DSG Oil Change.

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

I have done lots of research and I am definitley looking for Superb mk2 Estate.  Either the 1.8tsi or 2.0 170 Diesel.

Ideally in black or a very nice blue/green colour I haven't found the name of yet.   Got to be in Elegance or LK spec which unlikely to fall in budget of max 7k.

Anyway, there arent many manuals around and out of 62 DSG cars on Autotrader.  The cars im looking at are over 80k so should have had 2 DSG oil/oil filter changes.

Only 1 says has had a DSG Oil Change!!!!!

One dealer selling a car with dealer FSH I contacted told me that DSG oil changes done as part of Skoda Service history which Skoda tell me not so and would need seperate documentation to prove done.

SO............how much can I try to knock off price of cars if no proof of DSG oil servicing??

or it's too critical and would be silly to buy DSG on higher mileage with no proof...........?

this could be a long search.

thanks!

Welcome,

If looking at a 1.8 TSI someone here could maybe confirm if it has a 7 speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG so a DQ200 which does not require an oil change @ 40,000 miles.

a 2012 car would possibly had the Service Campaign '34F7' to change the oil from synthetic to mineral and a software update sometime between 2014 and now.

I would not touch a wet clutch DSG that has not got a History / invoices showing Oil & Filter changes at 40,000 mile intervals or sooner.

I would also want to know the history of the DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG if it has one.

PS

Check the pinned thread at the top of the Octavia Mk2 section on 1.8 & 2.0 TSI engines.

Nice one Roottootemblowinootsoot!   🙂

Good info and i'll look into that link more and find out about the petrol DSG.

Definitley agree not to touch the DSG without the invoices for servicing.   :0)

thanks!

chain tensioner worries on the 1.8 petrol then sounds quite extensive and quite a lot of failures. ill have to research more.  it was also included in the 34f7 recall but I guess if it has had oil changed its OK........

The wet clutch on the diesel needing serving every 40k is such a grey area,   i cant find any cars being advertised with this "requirement" having been done.    So as the cars in my budget are all around the 100k mark finding one i want and with the DSG oil servicing could be tricky.   annoying.

skoda do a fixed price DSG oil change for £199......   assuming that includes a filter change???  or do they just clean it?

?

Have you looked in the BRISKODA Cars for sale?

Or thought of putting a Wanted Ad.

If it is a DSG with a filter then yes it should be changed at the £199 Fixed price.

As to the DQ200 DSG's.

That was not a Recall in Europe just a Service Campaign.  If with a 1.8TSI and you are swerving that then not an issue to bother about.
