Waze announcements annoying

Featured Replies

I had to go to Birmingham on Thursday for work, downloaded some podcasts to listen to but with my phone (Motorola G5 Plus) connected to the car and Android auto I kept getting "speed trap ahead" or "entering average speed check area" announcements via Waze. These override the podcast playing and it became extremely annoying. I have had no success in trying to turn off Waze - I didn't need it on this journey as it was mostly M1, M6 and I knew where I was going. Anyone got any suggestions to disable Waze when I don't need it short of deleting the app from my phone? Thanks, Chris

Few options that come to mind:

- Select google maps or any other AA compatible navigation software to 'disable' Waze

- Open Waze and turn all alerts off

- Open the Waze app and change which events will cause an alert

Sorted! Went into Waze on my phone and turned alerts off, couldn't see this option when connected to the Columbus via Android Auto. Many thanks.

The only way to turn these on/off is to go into the phone app. I have done just this recently to stop annoying pop ups. You can also turn voice commands off which have as default as I mainly use Waze for traffic avoidance.
