Is it possible to obtain a new replacement part for this item, searched internet trying various descriptions but unable to locate. Any help would be appreciated.

I think you're looking for part 31 here.  If so, a Google{tm} search on part number should turn up one from a breaker or skoda-parts.com for a new one at reasonable money here.  Do check which colour you need; I've searched for the black/dark grey version but there's also an Onyx version.
