Hello from Inverness...

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I've just joined, although I've had a Skoda before. I bought a '55 plate Fabia 1.9 vrs about 3 years ago and loved it, then my brother fancied it so I let him have it and I replaced it with my dream Skoda, a blue Octavia Scout. It'll pull the caravan, deal wth the weather, get me into the Scottish wilderness, and carry my piano and PA for travelling to gigs.

I'm a musician (fiddle/violin) and I've lived in Orkney most of my life, moving down to Inverness just 15 months ago.

My other car is a classic mini!

Cheers

Fiona

A warm welcome to the Forum Fiona !  Great pics and I like the look of the mini.  Drove as few in the early 60s with the cranked gear lever, floor start and cable slide windows.  Great fun and pretty reliable.  Pity they didn't get round to exporting them as some of my German friends wanted them but Austin Morris / British Leyland didn't seem interested,  The prices are certainly rising for good ones and yours looks that, what year?

Thanks - she's a 1982 Mini City, given a restoration job by my brother. Also got a Stage 3 cylinder head and a Stage 1 kit so it's extra speedy!

She wasn't anywhere near original, or we'd have kept it that way. Very nippy and yes, less trouble than a lot of modern cars that seem to all be run by computers....
